A predictable rhythm children can trust

Young children feel secure when they know what to expect. The daily rhythm at TIMS balances focused classroom work, group connection, outdoor play, meals, rest and enrichment. This structure helps children feel confident while giving them freedom to explore within clear boundaries.

Good to know: Times are a general guide. Specialist sessions — German, music and the Train with Brain movement programme — run on set days across the week. Extended care is available Monday to Thursday until 5:00 pm and Friday until 4:30 pm; afterschool activities (3:00–4:00 pm) are invoiced separately.

Morning arrival

Early morning care is available from 8:00 am if needed. The regular school day begins at 8:30 am. Children arrive, change into indoor shoes, greet their teachers and settle into the classroom environment.

Montessori work cycle

The morning work cycle is the heart of the TIMS day. Children choose materials, work with concentration and repeat activities at their own pace. Teachers observe, guide and introduce new materials when children are ready.

Circle time and community

Circle time brings the group together for songs, stories, conversation and shared experiences. It supports language, listening, confidence and a sense of belonging.

Outdoor play and nature

Children spend regular time outdoors on the playground, in the garden or exploring nearby natural spaces when possible. Outdoor play supports movement, social skills, observation and healthy development.

Lunch, care and afternoon rhythm

The school day includes shared meals and calm routines that help children care for themselves and one another. Afternoons may include practical life, enrichment, outdoor time, afterschool activities or extended care depending on age group and family needs.

Specialist programs & visiting experts

Alongside our Montessori classroom team, children benefit from dedicated specialists who bring extra depth to the week — in language, music and movement.

German with a dedicated language teacher

Our outstanding German teacher leads regular, native-level German sessions, giving every child — international and local alike — a genuine feel for the language and culture of their new home.

Music with a specialist teacher

Our wonderful specialist music teacher fills the week with singing, rhythm and instruments, nurturing listening, expression, memory and the simple joy of making music together.

Train with Brain — movement & motor skills

Through the Train with Brain programme, children take part in guided movement and coordination activities that strengthen balance, motor skills and concentration — supporting both body and developing brain.

Afterschool and extended care

Optional afterschool activities usually take place from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on many days and are invoiced separately. Extended care may be available Monday to Thursday until 5:00 pm and Friday until 4:30 pm.
