Food & Wellbeing

Children learn best when they feel safe, nourished and cared for. Food and wellbeing routines at TIMS support health, independence and a calm school day.

Fresh, Onsite & Garden-to-Table Nutrition

We believe that total wellbeing begins with what we put into our bodies. Unlike settings that rely on external catering, TIMS is proud to feature a fully equipped onsite kitchen and our very own dedicated school chef. Every day, fresh, balanced, and nutritious meals are prepared right here on campus.

Adding magic to this process is our vibrant school vegetable garden. The children get hands-on experience planting, nurturing, and harvesting seasonal vegetables, which are then proudly brought straight to the kitchen for our chef to turn into delicious lunches. It's a wonderful, real-world lesson in sustainability and healthy living that our children look forward to.

Healthy homemade food

TIMS places importance on providing children with nourishing food during the school day. Homemade meals and snacks help create a caring rhythm and give children the energy they need for learning, movement and play.

Mealtimes are also social learning moments. Children practise independence, manners, conversation and respect for one another in a calm group setting.

Fresh meals from our onsite chef

TIMS has its own chef who cooks fresh on the premises every single day. Rather than relying on outside caterers, our chef prepares wholesome morning snacks and warm lunches in the school kitchen, using organic (bio) products wherever possible. Because everything is made fresh each day, meals can flex with the seasons and with what is freshest and best.

From our garden to the table

Food at TIMS begins in our own vegetable garden. Children plant, tend and harvest fresh produce themselves, then our chef brings that harvest straight into the kitchen and incorporates it into their meals. This garden-to-table connection helps children understand where food comes from, take pride in what they have grown and develop a natural appreciation for fresh, healthy eating.

Prepared with care

Food routines should be clear, safe and consistent. TIMS works carefully around allergies, hygiene and age-appropriate meals. Families should always share dietary needs and allergy information with the school office during admissions and whenever circumstances change.

Nut-aware / nut-free approach

TIMS follows a careful approach to nuts in order to support children's safety. Exact policy wording should be confirmed by the school and reflected consistently in family handbooks, admissions information and daily practice.

Wellbeing routines

Daily wellbeing is built through small routines: washing hands, eating together, brushing teeth after lunch where applicable, resting when needed, moving outdoors and learning to care for oneself and others.

Healthcare at school

Children's health and wellbeing are supported throughout the year. As part of this care, a dentist visits the school twice a year to encourage healthy habits and early dental awareness in a friendly, familiar setting.

Independence at mealtimes

In the Montessori spirit, children are encouraged to participate in age-appropriate ways: setting up, serving, tidying, caring for belongings and noticing the needs of the group.

Please contact the school office for current allergy and food-safety policies. Families are asked to inform TIMS of any allergies or dietary needs before their child starts.
